Delete your account
You can delete your Mabel.Pet account and everything in it at any time. There are two ways: do it yourself in the app, or ask us to do it for you.
Deleting it yourself
- Open Mabel.Pet and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Under Account, choose Delete my account & data.
- Confirm twice. The second confirmation is the point of no return.
This works the same way in the App Store app on iPhone and iPad, in the Google Play app on Android, and on the website — they are all the same account.
Asking us instead
If you can't sign in, email hello@mabel.pet from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We may need to check a few details first, so that nobody else can delete your records. We aim to reply within a few days and to complete the deletion within 30 days of confirming it's you.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in details.
- Your pets and all of their records — weights, vaccinations, medications, diagnoses, appointments, notes and costs.
- Every photo and document you uploaded.
- Your reminder settings and this device's reminder subscription.
Any subscription is cancelled at the same time, so you aren't billed again.
What doesn't get deleted, and why
A pet with a co-owner is handed to them, not deleted. Two people share that animal's history, and one person leaving shouldn't destroy the other's records. If you want those records gone as well, remove the co-owner's access first, then delete your account.
Records you transferred to someone else stay with them. When a pet is adopted or handed over, the new owner receives their own copy. That copy is theirs and is not ours to delete — ask them to delete it if you'd like it removed.
Limited transaction records are kept. Where the law requires us to keep basic payment records, we keep only those, for as long as we must.
How long it takes
Deleting from inside the app happens immediately. Backups are overwritten on their normal cycle, so a copy may persist in backup storage for a short period afterwards before being permanently removed.
Before you go
If you'd like to keep your pets' history, export it first — open a pet, then Export. You'll get a file with the full record and every attachment, which you can keep or hand to a vet. Once the account is deleted we cannot recover any of it.
If you only want to stop paying, you don't need to delete anything. Cancel the subscription instead: your records stay and become view-only when the paid period ends.
